This heavy-duty shock-absorbing receiver hitch provides superior comfort while towing by reducing road shock and chucking using air bag and bumper stop technologies. The receiver hitch comes with 2-5/16" hitch ball and drop ball mount.

Features:

  • Heavy-duty shock-absorbing hitch features industrial strength air bags and cushioned bump stops that dampen chucking and road shock
    • Hooks your trailer to your tow vehicle with included drop mount and 2-5/16" ball
    • Also compatible with Shocker Hitch 2" ball, sway bar mount raised ball mount, clevis mount, combination ball, cushioned draw bar, and standard draw bar (all sold separately)

  • Zerk-fitting at the pivot point makes maintenance simple

Video Transcript for Shocker Hitch Ball Mounts Manufacturer Discussion

Hello neighbors. It's Brad here at eTrailer and I'm with Hunter from Shocker Hitch. We're lucky enough to have trainings here at eTrailer to really get to know our products and while we have 'em here, might as well share that information with you. This is his own personal truck. We have our 12 K bumper mount. So Hunter, tell us kind of what does the Shocker Hitch do that sets it aside from any other ball mount So essentially our hitch, we are using the air ride concept, which is the best cushioning system on the market.

You know, there's a reason semis and those guys all use it on their trailers. So what we're doing is we're essentially taking the road shock that you feel from when you hit the little bumps, the big overpasses, and we are transferring that energy through an airbag instead of you feeling it in the front seat of your pickup, your motor home, or whatever you're driving. And then with that, it also just helps with longevity of the equipment. When you're able to cushion that ride for both pieces, stuff has a tendency to last a little longer too. Brad So with towing anything, you are adding that tongue weight.

And when you have a fixed point on a ball mount, that is going to translate any shock, any big bumps. And so that's where having another point of suspension really makes a big deal. It's gonna soften that up with the airbag and again, that translates all the way down the trailer, making the contents of the trailer just happier overall. Obviously this is probably different than most people see on a ball mount. It looks different.

You have the airbag there, but how does this actually work So essentially how our system works is the receiver just goes into your standard pickup. So two inch, two and a half, three inch, depending on whatever pickup you have. The airbag then slides underneath when you fill it up with air, essentially that airbag will just sit up against the bottom of the receiver. So when you're going down the road, we've got that main pivot point on our hitch to where that is, our hitch is going to essentially pivot on that bolt and that airbag is going to cushion as it's going down the road. So this hitch is essentially just gonna kind of teeter, as you're going down the road and allowing that airbag to absorb that energy that the trailer's transferring to the pickup from the bumps and all that.

Brad So it also kind of doubles as anti-rattle then. So as that bag is compressed, that's gonna keep that in place and not rattle around, correct Hunter A hundred percent. Yeah. So when you can take that shank and clamp it in that receiver, you are also taking out the rattle that you get from other hitches as well. Then with that, you know a lot of older pickups that when that shank is bouncing up and down, it has a tendency to wear that receiver out and kind of disform it to where it just essentially keeps adding more and more and more room for it to rattle. So when our big goes underneath and clamps that in, now we're also adding longevity a receiver because you're not allowing anything to move around in there. Brad Now we've been outta the racetrack and we've seen a lot of people towing their trailers with Shocker Hitch and they have nothing but great things to say. They all have their own stories about it and how it's solved a lot of their problems. You have one in particular that's pretty cool. Tell us about it. Yeah, so you know, the racing community is a big one that we're in. You know, we have a lot of ties to the racing community with our company. One of the famous Shocker Bob stories that you'll hear is about 15 years ago, he had a customer that bought one of our hitches and was towards the end of the race night, made himself a cup of coffee, and he set it up on the cabinet, put the car in, got talking to a guy, completely forgot about it, shut all the, you know, shut his rig up, took off down the road, drove about a couple hours home, went out the next morning, opened the door to his trailer and his coffee cup was still sitting up on his cabinet. At that point, that customer became a very, very big believer, and like I said, Shocker Bob is his name, the inventor. He loves to tell that story to everybody. So when you're smoothing that ride out between everything, it just in general helps everything in general so. Well, and that's whether it be a race car trailer or a horse trailer, whatever it may be, having the Shocker Hitch, I mean it's precious cargo. You got a lot of, you know, flammable liquids bouncing around potentially, or your horse, that's a big investment. You wanna make sure that that's a nice smooth ride and the fact that a cup of coffee can stay there while going down the road. I know you RVers could probably have a little disbelief there, but that is a true testament to how much it really absorbs. So this is a great look into the Shocker Hitch trailer mounted ball mount. This is an awesome option. I'd like to thank Hunter from Shocker Hitch for giving us a little bit more information on it. Not a problem. Thank you guys for having me down here and enjoy doing this.
